Prayer Requests

September 15

  • process of beginning to transition to ending field service in Sierra Leone
  • preparation for the ship and everything that needs to be in order to move to Ghana and then to Togo
  • crew members on board health (there is always flu-like illnesses going around the ship)
  • Mercy Ships hospital patients

August 29

  • ability to be an effective teacher for my students (I think I am getting into the swing of things here)
  • smooth transition into my new cabin with new cabin-mates (love it!)
  • crew members on board will experience the Lord in new ways
  • Mercy Ships hospital patients

July 31

  • adjusting to “life on the ship” (slowly but surely!)
  • the ability to prioritize and stay un-overwhelmed (is this a word?) when I am learning all about the Academy and new expectations (we start tomorrow!) (always a work in progress…)
  • the safe arrival of families coming back from holiday (the last family came in last Friday- everyone is here, safe and sound)

July 8

  • safe travels and health for our team on the way to Sierra Leone on July 13  (all of us arrived safely with our luggage!)
  • that our team will be able to build relationships with the people in the community we will be serving during our field service (we served with an amazing community!! some of them even came to the ship for dinner tonight I would say that was relationships)
  • that we will be able to adjust to the time changes and living in a different country  (with one day of rest to recover from jet lag… and lots of prayer adjusting to culture shock I am still working on this second one)
  • the Lord will give me a calm and peaceful spirit! (the Lord has certainly brought me a long way from when I first arrived)

    Hi Amy,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am anxious to hear of your time out in the field with your team and the new community of people that you are ministering to.
    God Bless,
    Maria Elena
